Well the Toongabbie Baptist Church turned on a wonderful day. After a chilly and early start for us to get there the day turn out to be a lovely warm winters day with plenty of sunshine. This and the lovely venue were ideal for the times during the day when couples have ‘project’ time where they are encouraged to find a quite spot and spend time discussing the session that has just finished.
Toongabbie Baptist Church is a lovely place and has a fresh, dynamic staff who put in heaps of effort to promote the event. The promotion resulted in 62 people attending the day. Cheryl and Craig, our hosts for the day, worked tirelessly leading up to and during the day to ensure that everyone attending had everything they needed. Morning and afternoon tea were scrumptuous and lunch, in a beautifully presented dining area, was accompanied by a pianist playing in the background.
The day saw a variety of people attend with not only married couples but engaged and singles as well. Not everyone was from the local area either with one couple having traveled from Orange to attend and one lady who was attending with her fiance having only arrived in Australia from San Diego a few weeks before.
Our new talk, session 2, on how to grow together went ok and seemed to be well received. We both felt ‘note bound’ but this is to be expected given the newness of the talk.
I’ve loaded a few photos from the day in the photo gallery on my site.
